Forex Trading Education


Formal forex trading education sources offer a distinct advantage to the more unrecognized forms of forex trading. This advantage might come handy in seeking employment in the industry and in other situation where credibility is important.

Most usual sources of formal education naturally come from the institutions of higher education. At this level, the level of mathematical understanding and availability of supporting courses provide a natural environment for trading education.

Other, less formal but widely recognized sources include Exchanges that offer forex related products.

Forex Trading Education – Institutions of Higher Education

Many forex professionals have formal education from institutions of higher education. Using the same resources to get the same information thus should place you at somewhat equal standing to professionals as far as initial education goes.

Usually, the courses which handle forex trading especially only come at the advanced studies level aiming for a MBA or MSc. To handle these courses, however, it’s good to have a solid basic grasp of financial mathematics, statistics and international economics. Also, a first-level degree is required.

If you cannot take time of to enroll into a full advanced curriculum, many universities offer executive courses and short finance related courses that you might to consider.

Forex Trading Education – Exchanges

Many exchanges offer forex trading education because they offer forex related trading products, such as FX futures and options. Exemplary exchanges that offer training are Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

CME offers trading education in classroom, seminar, and online education forms. The courses are mostly about best trading techniques and how to use CME products for trading purposes, but there are frequently courses that handle currency trading only.

CBOT has a complete set of educational resources for you to use and benefit from. Their offers include online investment tutorials, seminars, private tutoring, and more. As with CME, most of these courses offer general trading strategies, but there might be occasional courses for forex trading education.

CBOT also works together with University of Trading, which provides educational screen, pit, and technical analysis courses for individuals interested in pursuing a career in futures trading.
