If you have a brokerage account with an online brokerage, chances are that the online platform for trading with the brokerage has stock charts (most with real-time data), in addition to real-time news feeds, analysis packages, and more.

Charts are important in some market strategies, especially those involving technical analysis.

This strategy may involve something called "chart reading", where the patterns in the charts provide signals for trading calls.

In addition to the brokerage platforms, you can find free stock charts from a variety of online sources.

These sources include:

• finance.yahoo.com (Quotes delayed, delay times are 15 mins for NASDAQ, 20 mins for NYSE and Amex. You can subscribe to premium services, where the quotes are in real-time.)

In addition to the intraday charts, most of these sites also offer historical price information in chart format, so that you can make, for example, long-term profitability analyses and simulations based on long-term time series.
