International Money Exchange Rates

International money exchange rates information is best available from the many exchange rate portals that are available. Here’s a quick review of the more popular ones.

Ever since Internet began, people have used it to get currency exchange rate information. First these services were provided by commercial banks, as very delayed quotes, then the emergence of exchange rate portals brought live rates and comprehensive information about the international forex market.

The more popular portals, offering a wide variety of currencies to explore, include:

  • ExchangeRate.com
  • XE.com

International Money Exchange Rates – ExchangeRate.com

The exchangerate.com web site offers various tools to find and use exchange rate information for your benefit. These tools, available directly from the site, include:

  • Quick international exchange rate quotes (delayed)
  • Historic rates
  • FX charts & graphs
  • Photos of international currencies
  • Lists of central banks around the world

The exchange rate quotes has been made as easy as possible. You can choose an entire region to convert your chosen currency against. The international exchange rates table also includes daily change indicators, which helps you immediately see which way the region’s currencies have traded lately.

The past rates tool offers a comprehensive tool to find historic rates of your chosen currency pair. A little minus goes to the fact that these rates are not easy to export to a spreadsheet application, as you’ll get the rates by month (or for the last 30-day period).

The charts and graphs tool offers quick graphs to check visually how the international money exchange rates for selected currency pairs have traded recently. What’s good about this service is that it includes even less widely traded currencies.

International Money Exchange Rates – XE.com

XE.com has been chosen by The Times (U.K.) as the second most useful web site in the world, back in August 2003.

The full version of the site’s converter contains every world currency. The selection for international forex rates thus covers over 180 currencies in over 250 geographical locations.

The site uses live mid-market rates in its quote tables.
