investing games
Investing games are great for testing out your strategy on choosing stocks, commodities, or forex instruments, for example, before placing any real money at risk.
The games have limitations, however, and the conditions don't completely match actual market situations.
Of the different markets, there are perhaps the most devoted to the stock market, as most of the non-professional investors place much of their investments into that sector.
There are, however, also games that include or focus on the forex, bond, or commodities markets.
Most of the available trading games are competitive games, with prizes available for those that end the competition period with the most profits.
If there's no actual competition, there are at least rankings of the best performing investment portfolios.
Even though investment games may seem like a waste of time, these types of games, in one format or another, are commonly used in business school financial market classes.
The idea is to get students formulate and report their strategies, develop risk management skills, and follow through on the actual execution of trades.
