investment services training

Much of the investment services training is done within the service companies, in third party institutions, and in educational institutions, such as universities.

Of these, the financial services firms typically have in-house training for their new recruits. Whether you get to participate in such training depends on what type of position you're hired for.

Sales people, be it customer dealers, brokers, personal financial advisers, or people in similar positions normally get financial markets training.

This is partially because a degree in finance related fields may not be required (interpersonal skills may weight more).

Some positions require taking exams.

These requirements are typical for brokers and financial advisors, and include different licences from NASD (National Association of Securities Dealers).

Investment Training Companies

Training can also be done by independent service provider companies.

These companies may in fact be financial consultants, who typically have the flexibility to also provide investment training.

Companies providing training include:

  • aitraining.com (American Investment Training)
  • reged.com (Securities Education Institute)
  • taylorassociates.co.uk (global educational provider for the financial services market participants)

Investment Services Training Institutions

Finally, there are institutions that provide training for financial service market participants.

These institutions include universities and other higher education institutions.

You may find education from short, executive MBA-type courses to longer degree/certification training in specific fields.

For example, University of Wisconsin has a School of Continuing Education that offers 10 different courses on investments.
